About Me
I am Carmelina Micallef a native English language speaker and personal trainer.

I help busy professionals who need to ‘brush up’ their English for business or for personal reasons.

Throughout my teaching career, students in international settings at school, university and in the working world shared a common problem when learning English: their inability to be fluent.

Fluency is about communicating ideas, about the person you’re communicating with and picking the right messages. If you make a mistake in saying something but is effective enough to be understood, then this is fluency.

Here are just some of the things that frequently emerged about trying to be fluent:
It wasn’t a priority for us to practice our speaking skills at school. I learnt chunks of content and confusing explanations but never did any speaking.

I can understand, but when it comes to speaking I’m scared of making mistakes.

I know what I want to say but I easily get stuck. I can’t find the right words.

I can’t start a conversation or keep it going.

I’m tired of following classes. Nothing will ever work for me.
